Christian Temple
An addition to the front of the Christian Temple facility was created to provide a welcoming entrance and redefine the congregation’s presence within the community. This process of redefinition was carried over to the redesign of the main sanctuary to reflect the congregation’s desire to have a modern place of worship that would reinforce a more contemporary interaction with the worship service. The architectural details utilize a vernacular vocabulary pulled from the existing building. By reusing architectural elements in unconventional ways and utilizing new approaches to construction, the style is transformed and given a modern application based on a rich core of traditional details. In this way the architecture parallels the congregation’s mission to illustrate the continued relevance of its teachings to a modern world.
